“The Lancaster County Chapter of the Pennsylvania Association of Educational Secretaries organized on Friday, October 31, 1958 at a meeting held at Donegal High School. Twenty-nine secretaries from Columbia Borough, Donegal Union, Elizabethtown Area, Lampeter-Strasburg Union, Lancaster City, the Lancaster County School Board, Lancaster Township School District, Manheim Township, Penn Manor and Pequea Valley School Districts were present.
The purpose of this local chapter is to advance the educational interests of the county through the services of the secretaries, to cultivate a spirit of goodwill among secretaries and clerks, and through organization to pool ideas and ideals toward a more efficient and professionally-minded secretarial and clerical staff. All persons engaged in clerical and secretarial work in educational systems in the county, or in organizations concerned with education in the county are eligible for active membership.”

Educational office personnel from Lebanon County were officially invited to become members of the association by a unanimous vote on April 13, 1993.
